It's been a work in progress to get to a place of joy!

It's not easy choosing what to do with your life. But it can be less difficult if you listen to your heart and follow your passion. I've had to learn to do this over the years and it has truly paid off.
I began my journey as most do, as a child with big dreams and hopes. My dream initially was to be a pharmacist, my Mom worked at a pharmacy and this seemed like the best. job. ever. I would visit Shoppers Drug Mart with my Mom and one time I sat behind the counter and had her take a photo of me for a school project so I could truly visualize my future. I studied and worked hard, and always made sure to have my grades high. Then I went off to McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario for Science and completed 4 years, with a major in Biology and a minor in Psychology. I was following my heart, just doing what it lead me to do. But then, in my 3rd year of University I started to feel lost. I wanted to be in the health industry but completely forgot my pharmacist dreams, and medicine really just didn't make me feel excited, and honestly there wasn't anything else screaming to me "do this!" So I started asking around. I was accepted to the University of Wollongong in Australia for an exchange program and while away I would describe my vision to my friends who seemed to know a lot more about health careers than I. I told them how I wanted to help people to heal naturally using holistic methods, looking for other ways to change their health than medications and surgery. I was told I was describing Chiropractic so of course, I googled it! It certainly sounded nice, and so I applied and in 2010 I finished 4 years in Chiropractic College at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, Ontario.
After graduation I practiced in many different types of facilities, with all different types of visions and ways of seeing the patients. I quickly learned I wanted to find a way to treat the nervous system with even more precision than I had already been doing, so I embarked on McMaster University's Contemporary Acupuncture Program in Hamilton, Ontario. 300 hours later, I was done and very excited to share Medical Acupuncture with my community. But something was missing, my nutrition & supplementation passion was being ignored, and my underlying pharmacy dream was lost. But then an old friend and colleague contacted me. She brought up how involved in health I was and that I may like to look at this amazing line of nutritionals. I was open to learning anything about health, so I listened. This brought the world of USANA Health Sciences to life for me. How perfect, top of the line nutritional supplements that are PHARMACEUTICAL grade! I now realize I was meant to be a Holistic "pharmacist."
An increasingly important facet of my passion is food! This love of food and healthy food began when I was about 12 years old. I love learning about food, and talking about food, and of course eating food! I had such a passion for talking about nutrition that it was always in the back of my mind that I wanted to be in the nutrition world (there's that intuition talking!). But I thought I had lost that option when I finished my schooling. Lucky for me USANA had come into my life, and after plenty of glorious hours of nutrition training and working with clients & patients, I now am happy to practice as a Holistic Nutritionist. I have become so in love with nutrition, freedom, lifestyle creation, and leadership that I 100% focus on this now! I have been able to retire from practice and work remotely. I am truly grateful. I work an absolutely amazing team of individuals who love owning their schedule, promoting health, and living the laptop lifestyle. I call it #FreedomByDesign. If this resonates with you, we should talk ;)
As I follow this path, and listen to my heart, something exciting keeps coming up- Interior Decorating! My husband and I have renovated and sold 6 houses in the past 6 years, we both love these projects! Often I have friends and family asking for help with their spaces after seeing the ones I have created. So naturally it has just evolved to something I can offer- Holistic Living Space Design.
I spend my time sharing health & nutrition with my clients, customers, and my health team. I work with heart led individuals creating their living space design and/or designing their freedom lifestyle. All of these things combined, makes me a Holistic Entrepreneur! I enjoy life with my husband and my frenchie Coconut and kitty Straya. I am able to choose my schedule. I cherish my mornings for my tea or coffee, meditation, and some exercise, and I love my ability to travel with my global business in hand. I am still learning and growing, I know I always will be. But my greatest lesson has been in truly being ME, listening to my intuition and following my heart. Love life, and life will love you back. I promise.
